Auberge Pom'poire

Thank you Émilie, staff and skilled chefs for an unforgettable dining experience at Auberge Pom'Poire restaurant. We took a 5-course dinner choice and left above and beyond satisfied! The food was extremely rich in flavour, beautifully served and every detail was very well taken care of. The service was impeccable! This restaurant is truly delightful. Service is warm and friendly and the atmosphere (tucked away in the Loire valley countryside) is absolutely gorgeous. The food is absolutely stunning. We are at a famous, historic 2-star in Paris and it had nothing on Auberge Pom’Poire, which was a far superior meal in our estimation. There was not one meh or mediocre course - everything was fresh, innovative, full of flavor, and flat out delicious. It was a perfect summer meal celebrating beautiful summer and French ingredients. Book a table here right away!

We ate at the restaurant Pom'Poire while staying at the gite (country house) on the property, and it was one of the most memorable meals we have ever had-- it was truly so special on every level. The seasonality, flavors, and creativity were absolutely unbelievable. Furthermore, we had an adult in our party not able to make it, and on seeing the menu for "Gourmands en Herbe", we took our 11-year old daughter along. She adored every minute, loved trying new flavors and textures, and considered it an extremely special experience. The staff were nothing short of exceptional with both adults and our daughter, and treated her with so much warmth and respect, which was particularly notable at a restaurant of this caliber. We will absolutely return if we are lucky enough to visit Touraine again!

Our experience at the Auberge Pom’Poire could not have been better! The building is on the property of an extensive and beautiful working farm, growing the trademark apples and pears referenced by the hotel’s name. In front of the hotel, a vocal donkey and peaceable couple of goats serve as the welcoming committee; once inside, an impeccably clean, tastefully decorated, and clearly newly renovated space beckons you in. The room we stayed in was a stand-alone structure, also well-appointed with tasteful decor and obviously fresh from renovations, with a refreshing shower and a beautiful, furnished patio that overlooked the aforementioned animals. After checking in, it was time for dinner at the Michelin-star restaurant. The dining room was as impressive and atmospheric as the rest of the hotel spaces. We were blown away by every single item on the 9-course meal. All of the staff were highly professional and friendly, and our primary waitress Fiona went out of her way to make us feel welcome and explain each dish to us in detail. When dessert came around, the pastry chef herself emerged from the kitchen and walked us through the selection, including an excellent dish designed as an homage to the chef’s farmer father. In the last course, Fiona and the pastry chef brought us a special additional dessert, as well as a plate with the word “Congratulations” on our recent anniversary spelled out in chocolate drizzle. Breakfast in the morning was fresh and generous, and just as excellent as the rest of our stay! Thank you for a wonderful trip! -- Andrew and Laurel
